John gained an MSc in Environmental Bio-Science in a Changing Climate with Distinction in 2013. He also holds a degree in Philosophy and Politics from the University of Liverpool. He has worked as a research analyst for West Midlands Police and is taking this knowledge and experience forward as a member of the EPSRC CDT in Urban Science.
John is interested in the analysis of policy impact on the urban environment and society. As such, he is seeking to develop novel understanding of how data analysis can be used to interpret policy effects, and influence development in relation to a diverse range of societal matters in urban environments, including food security, public protection, social justice, public protest and environmental sustainability.
As part of his training John has spent time at the Center for Urban Science and Progress (CUSP) in New York and participated in the GLA-supported London Data Dive held in March 2016.
